Founded in 2016, the Mechanics and Dynamics Lab (MaDLab) is an engineering research lab hosted within the Aerospace Engineering department at Wichita State University. At MaDLab, our research focus is on understanding the structural and functional behavior of advanced structured material systems and leveraging this understanding to design tailored solutions for aerospace and mechanical applications. As a university lab, we are equally focused on developing the next generation of engineering leaders and researchers by providing educational opportunities to graduate, undergraduate, and high-school students. Located in the "Air Capital of the World", we significantly benefit from our symbiotic and rich collaborative relationships with major aircraft companies such as Airbus, Spirit AeroSystems, Textron/Cessna/Beechcraft, Bombardier-Learjet, and GE Aviation.
Mission: To advance the fields of structural mechanics, dynamics, and acoustics through engineering research with an emphasis on technology transfer.
Vision: To have a transformative impact on global society through accessible and inclusive scientific research and education.
